Planning A Wedding in 2022? Get started early!

According to the research firm “The Wedding Report”, there will be a record-breaking number of weddings in 2022. Covid reschedules and do-overs, in addition to the regularly scheduled weddings, add up to a 40-year high of more than 2.5 million weddings in the U.S. this year.

How can this affect you? If you’re one of the millions of couples planning to tie the knot this year, you’ll need to make plans early and get creative!

Whether using a wedding planner, or doing it all yourself, you’ll want to reach out to vendors as soon as possible to make sure your date is available. Venues, wedding photographers, florists, caterers, hair & makeup professionals, DJs, and planners will be in high demand. Most can only do one wedding per day, so get your date on their calendar before it’s blooked by another couple. As a photographer, I take on a limited number of weddings each year, allowing me to give amazing service and a quick photo delivery schedule to all of my couples. But, my calendar will fills up quickly.

With so many couples looking for the perfect wedding venue, you may have to get creative. If you can’t find an open venue, you might consider a backyard wedding, vineyard, brewery, mountain top or beach.  You may also have to rethink the guest list and adjust number accordingly. With the right planning, all of these options can be absolutely amazing! If the wedding date isn’t already set in stone, you may even want to consider a Thursday or Friday evening for more availability.

Planning a wedding can be a lot of fun - and should be one of the happiest times of your life. But, it can also be frustrating if everyone you call is already booked. Don’t let this happen to you! Make a list of must-have vendors and start reaching out today.

Wishing you an amazing celebration and a lifetime of happiness!
