What

to Wear

Feel free to bring 3 or 4 outfits to add variety to your shoot. This could be as simple as a shirt change, layering with coats, or bringing along one of your sport uniforms. Or, you may want several completely different looks. Dressy, sassy, classy, or sporty. Make sure all clothes are wrinkle-free and bring at least one outfit that makes your Mom happy!

Have fun with color and textures. You may be surprised at which ones you like best when you see the photos. Bright, rich colors can add life to a photo, while neutrals add a whole different vibe. If you bring a variety, you’ll have plenty to choose from. Solid colors or simple patterns are usually best. But, if you have a wild outfit that you just love, bring it along and we’ll see what we can do!

Scarves, hats, sunglasses, jackets, and bold jewelry are always fun. You may also bring Instruments, Books, Vehicles, Skateboards, Pets…there are so many options!

Remember, you’ll choose one photo for the yearbook, but you’ll receive several others that you can use throughout the year for social media, invitations, announcements, and more.

MakeUp and Skin

Ladies, don’t get too carried away with the makeup! Shiny powder or base may reflect in the photos. Keep it simple and accent your best features. False eyelashes (the more “natural” looking ones) and eyeliner are great for accenting your eyes. But if this isn’t something you’re used to doing, it’s better to go with what you know! You may even want to bring your lipstick/gloss and touchup makeup with you. The key is to still look like yourself - just polished.

For the guys, think about that 5 o’clock shadow. If you want a clean look, plan ahead! And if you’re prone to razor burn, give your skin time to adjust before your session.

Blemishes can be removed in photoshop, so don’t stress about that. If you wear glasses regularly, you’ll want to wear them in your shoot. It’s ideal if you can borrow a set of frames like yours without the lenses from your optometrist. If that isn’t possible, we’ll do our best to avoid reflections. Photogray glasses will darken outside, so keep that in mind as well!

Nervous About Posing?

Don’t worry about it…I’ve got that covered! We’ll be moving around, sitting, standing, and generally having a great time. Once we get into the session, you’ll forget all about posing. Feel free to check out Pinterest or other sites for posing ideas, and let me know if you have something specific in mind. But, don't lose sleep over it....I will show you exactly what to do!

Sports & Activities

Memories of your high school years usually focus on your activities. If you have a passion for sports, we can get some great shots that show off your talents. And years down the road, you’ll have photos to show your kids to prove how cool you were at their age! Baseball, Soccer, Skiing, Biking, Dance, Gymnastics, Rodeo, etc. No matter what you love to do, choose "The Works" package and we can add sports photos to your shoot for a session that is as unique as you are. Instruments and pets are also fun to include. I love to get creative, so let me know ahead of time if you have something cool to highlight.
